I little while ago I was able to record a little bit about my inspiration for No One is Quite Like You for the Cedar Fort Publishing and Media Behind the Scenes podcast. I drove down to their headquarters and spent just a few minutes sharing a little bit about the book and how it came to be. It was a fun experience and a great mommy break for me as I had some rare alone time driving to and from Springville. I spent the drive there thinking about all the things I wanted to say, and the drive back thinking about all the things I should have said. Today I listened to that episode of the podcast. I may have said “um” a few times, and I really don’t like listening to my own voice, but overall I’m pleased with what I said. It was really fun to listen to all the other children’s book authors featured on this episode as well. They were all so passionate and had inspiring stories about why they wrote what they did. Writing is a lot of work for little pay, and sharing your creations puts you in a very vulnerable position. But as I listened to the passion of all these authors, including myself, I realized the vulnerability is worth it. Putting yourself out there, and releasing a little of your passion adds a little more light into the world.
