Kathleen Gwilliam is the youngest of seven children and became an aunt at the ripe old age of six. It was then that her desire to teach and care for children was born. Throughout her college days, Kathleen worked as a preschool teacher and observed that one of the most significant ways to teach is through pages of a good book. Kathleen earned her BA in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah. She married and had children of her own, discovering her love of teaching extended to a love of writing the stories she wants her own children to hear. She desires all children to recognize their own unique talents and abilities, and understand their individual worth. She believes that each person, through kind and simple actions, can change the world. Her hope is that her stories will foster these thoughts and feelings in the people who read them.
Kathleen currently lives in Riverton Utah with her husband and five children. She spends her days sweeping up goldfish crackers, and her evenings watching kids play soccer. Most of her stories come to her in the quiet moments she is alone in the shower. Hiking, traveling, sunrises, and chocolate chip cookies are among her favorite things, although she doesn’t seem to get enough of any of them.
